Abstract

PATREC delivered a customised training program in econometrics and spatial statistics, aiming at providing insights into specialised robust models that account for spatial effects to support the process of provide more reliable parameter estimates into the Cube Land modelling platform. The training could also be a step towards creating a community of practice in Perth in transport and land-use modelling.
The program achieved its objectives in terms of offering insights in the state-of-the-art spatial modelling in R and strengthening the links academia-government. Feedback from the participants and stakeholders indicate that similar initiatives will assist building modelling capacity in Perth, WA, as well as creates the conditions for better dissemination and translation of research in practice, and enhanced collaboration between agencies.
