Abstract

This essay attempts to re-situate material practices as complex systems embedded within, and encoded by, multiple technological, cultural and social parameters. The goal is to ‘unpack’ modes of production affecting material culture, in relation to the rise of the post-digital artisan , and “Encoded Materiality.”
