Abstract

This thesis by publication focuses on identifying the optimal timing of commencing PN in term and late preterm infants. It comprises seven chapters that report six studies undertaken to address the research question, and general discussion and conclusions. The studies include a narrative review, Cochrane review, survey, retrospective study, randomised controlled trial and cost analysis. It has also made recommendations regarding the design of the future RCTs in this area.
