Abstract

With the increase of information load in social media platforms, the amount of data generated is immense and difficult to analyse. Therefore, hashtag recommendation has become crucial. Hashtag recommendation suggests the top -k hashtags
to the users as they write their microblogs. This thesis explores existing hashtag recommendation methods, proposes a framework that helps researchers understand various factors influencing hashtag recommendation, and focuses on developing methods for evaluating hashtag recommendation methods.
