Abstract
This thesis examines the patterns of stimulant use for ADHD in WA employing a mixed methods approach comprising two retrospective quantitative studies, and a qualitative study. The quantitative studies report disparities in stimulant use according to country of birth , race, socioeconomic status and residential locations. The qualitative study explores the reasons behind the findings that individuals of "Anglophonic" background are more likely to adhere stimulant than individuals of "non-Anglophonic " background. The thesis contributes to an emerging literature, emphasising the importance of adopting ecologically sensitive clinical practices in relation to ADHD.
