Abstract

The feasibility of using oil-bearing fluid inclusions as time-specific markers of different oil migration events is evaluated using data obtained from two case studies involving the Jabiru and South Pepper oil fields. Results show that oil-bearing inclusions allow the accurate determination of the molecular composition and geochemistry of petroleum charges in oil reservoirs.
