Abstract
A case study is presented for teaching the first course in communication technologies in intensive mode. Several strategies, including using workshops and support sessions extensively and requiring students to take online quizzes before lectures, have been implemented to facilitate flipped learning and active learning. With data collated for the past seven years, intensive mode teaching and traditional mode teaching are compared. From the case study, it can be concluded that it is possible to use intensive mode teaching to deliver a mathematically intensive course for a relatively large number of students, with improved students' performance and satisfaction.
