Abstract
Complexes containing C-4 ligands attached to one or two AuRu3 clusters by conventional sigma, 2 pi interactions have been obtained from reactions between (R3P)AuC equivalent to CC equivalent to CAu(PR3) (R = Ph, tol) or Au(C equivalent to CC equivalent to CH){P(tol)(3)} and either Ru-3(CO)(12), Ru-3(CO)(10)(NCMe)(2) or Ru-3(mu-dppm)(CO)(10). The X-ray determined structures of {(R3P)AuRu3(CO)(9)}(2)(mu(3),eta(2):mu(3),eta(2)-C2C2) [R = Ph (1) (three solvates), tol (2)], AuRu3{mu(3),eta(2)-C2C equivalent to CAu(PPh3)}(CO)(9)(PPh3) (3) and {(Ph3P)AuRu3(mu-dppm)(CO)(7)} (mu(3), eta(2): mu(3), eta(2)-C2C2){Ru-3(mu-H)(mu-dppm)(CO)(7)} (4) are reported.
