Characteristics of Unified Databases for Driven Piles

Abstract

This paper presents the development of static load test databases for driven piles in sand and clay. The work was undertaken as part of a Joint Industry Project (JIP) to provide a basis for assessment of design methods that are in use for offshore driven piles. The capacities of the database piles calculated using these methods are compared with the measured capacities and these comparisons are used to identify general trends and provide an indication of the degree of uncertainty associated with various methods.
