Abstract

Secretion of LH was monitored for up to 12 months in ewes ovariectomized in either anoestrus of the breeding season. Clearance rate assessed by either concentration dependent (Gompertz decay) or independent (exponential decay) indices decreased significantly with time. There was no evidence of interactions between season and time after ovariectomy. Assuming exponential decay, the apparent half life of LH in plasma varied from 28 minutes on Day 1 to 63 minutes on day 365 after ovariectomy.
