Abstract
The distinguished medical researcher Ananda Chakrabarty is a patent law icon for his involvement in the landmark US Supreme Court decision, Diamond v Chakrabarty (1980). In 2014, he coauthored an intriguing novel, Bugging Cancer (Logos Press). This is a book review of that novel, identifying what it reveals of Chakrabarty's personal reflections on science, progress, and patents.
