Abstract

This chapter reviews the significance of the excavations at Kourion’s Amathous Gate Cemetery, and presents our main conclusions about the cemetery itself, Kourion as a whole in the Hellenistic and Roman periods, and the experience of publishing a legacy excavation project. We begin with a narrative that summarizes our findings by following the biography of the cemetery over the millennia. We then evaluate how well we have been able to address our research questions and consider the broader intellectual significance of the project.
