Abstract
This thesis is in two sections. The first section is a picaresque novel on the life of AC/DC singer Bon Scott, from his early days in Fremantle to his death in London in 1980. The second section is a dissertation examining Scott's lyrics in relation to the Blues Lyric Formula. It is argued that because of Scott's intimate musical knowledge, he was able to work within and build upon that formula. As such, Scott 's lyrics have a claim to the blues tradition both as a continuation of that tradition and a worthy addition in their own right.
