Abstract

The increased of transportation costs are causing people to re-evaluate about what is affordable life. Providing low-cost housing in urban area is helping people to own a house but the increased of cost of living especially in transportation is threaten this poor people to live in theirs affordable limits. Distance plays an important role when locating these poor people in particular area; the far distance means the greater costs consumed. It maybe saves for the land cost and the house is less cheap but life with extra burden of transportation cost doesn't benefited people who are in the lower-income group. This paper aims to analyse the level of peoples' affordability, which focus on the accessibility and mobility pattern of urban living in City Hall of Kuala Lumpur administrative area using the GIS techniques.
