Abstract
AI-based technologies have been found to outperform standard care for diagnostic and prognostic prediction in the emergency department setting for a variety of clinical presentations. This chapter provides an overview of the current state of AI as it pertains to emergency medicine and its future possibilities. It highlights recent relevant advances and achievements in multiple fields, which show the possibilities, promises, and challenges of using AI in emergency medicine.
