Abstract

A modern-day re-imagining of Marc-Antoine Charpentier's 1684 Pastorale opera, Actéon. The opera's French baroque roots are re-interpreted through a jazz style. The original orchestration is replaced by a mixed jazz ensemble, interpreting the work using third-stream performance practices.
