In this paper the piston-mode motion of the water waves trapped in the narrow gap of two parallel closely spaced rectangular barges is investigated. The setting is similar to the problem of the LNG offloading from a floating plant into a shuttle tanker. We investigate in particular the difference in the resonance frequency and wave height caused by the different ballasting levels of two bodies relative to each other. Different setups with different ratios of the LNG tanker draft to the floating plant draft are designed and compared to the previous studies where both bodies have same draft values.
