A sesquiterpene alcohol from Litsea amara

A new tricyclic sesquiterpene alcohol was isolated from Litsea amara. The structure was deduced from spectroscopic analysis. The new sesquiterpene, which has been named indonesiol, has a seco-ishwarane skeleton.
