Abstract

This exposition is premised on the understanding that leaders’ dominant style arises from their existential dispositions. It is also informed by the understanding that benefits can be derived from leaders enriching their experience by being aware of what they are doing and what they are learning from it. This ‘opinion piece’ comprises one principal’s reflexive commentary on challenges presented to his school community by the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, strategies adopted to deal with them, and his learnings about enacting school leadership.
