Abstract

This paper presents a novel single-input multi-output (SIMO) DC/DC converter with high voltage conversion ratio in both voltage step-up and step-down mode. The proposed converter guarantees strong independent control ability for different output voltage levels and by using the two-stage structure and series connected current-source-mode (CSM) converters. The first stage uses a voltage-source-mode (VSM) buck converter to perform voltage step-down and provide a tightly regulated stable current; whereas the second stage uses series connected CSM converters which are inherently independent of each other thus to perform voltage step-up with a simpler control scheme and avoid cross-regulation issue. Its performance is verified by simulation results.
