A New Limitation Act for the 21st Century

Abstract

This article summarises and comments on the changes made in WesternAustralia by the Limitation Act 2005. 1t compares the provisions of thatAct with the previous law and the reforms recommended by the LawReform Commission of Western Australia in 1997. The previolls law wasbased on 19th centulJi models and had remained untouched by reformselsewhere. The 2005 changes have brought the law of limitation of actions in Western Australia into the 21st centUiy.
