    Abstract

The receiver is comprised of a transversal equalizer followed by a Viterbi decoder. The equalizer is used to equalize in a mean-square-error sense to an optimized channel model which has a small number of interfering symbols. The Viterbi decoder is used to detect the interesting symbols.
