Abstract

The major lipophilic metabolite produced by a strain of Cochliobolus spicifer grown on potato dextrose broth has been identified as E-6-chloro-10,11-dehydrocurvularin [2]. The phytotoxic fungal metabolite, curvularin [1], is the major metabolite produced when the fungus is grown on Czapek-Dox medium.
