Abstract

10 mins • video installation
A site-specific 4-channel video installation commissioned for the Ars Electronica Festival and exhibited as part of the Prix Ars Electronica Exhibition at POSTCITY in Linz, Austria, between September 4–8, 2023. The work was designed as an audiovisual stand-in for SymbioticA’s Sunlight, Soil & Shit (De)Cycle (or 3SDC) project, which received an Award of Distinction in the Artificial Intelligence & Life Art category of Prix Ars Electronica.

The screener video is a collation of the four video channels, each representing a key component of the 3SDC system. The work features some footage and the same AI narrator from Kenta McGrath and Joseph London's standalone documentary film about the same project, Sunlight: YES.

Won The 2024 WA Screen Culture Awards (WASCA) - Alternative Content (including Moving Image, Installation Art, Virtual Reality, 360°, Augmented Reality etc) presented by PAV
