Abstract
The research situation of swelling theory of SAP was summarized with practical application. The absorbing mechanism of SAP was introduced by two aspects of structure and thermodynamics, which indicated that the water absorbing of resin was related to the intrinsic structure and chemical potential. The swelling mechanism of SAP was mainly introduced, which the basic connotation of Flory swelling equilibrium theory was expatiated. The dynamics of swelling process and the diffusion of solution in resin were introduced.
