Cory joined the Association in 2009 and over the ensuing period has represented the Association with distinction. He umpired five consecutive Grand Finals and was awarded the Umpire of the Year trophy in 2013. He served as Social Secretary for five seasons (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015). He was also a member of the Operations Department for two seasons as a Match Day Coach (2014 & 2015) and as Open Rules Senior Coach for five seasons (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020). In 2018, he became the first DDFUA member to make his WAFL League field umpiring debut in 20 years; and has since umpired 3 WAFL Grand Finals. Additionally, Cory has extended his expertise to the Australian Women's Football League (AFLW), where he serves as an umpire, making his debut in 2016.
