Research
Dr Yubai Zhang is a researcher at the Centre for Energy, University of Western Australia. Her research focuses on the design and development of advanced carbon-based materials for environmental and energy applications. She investigates biomass-derived biochar and graphene-based materials as functional electrodes for electrochemical adsorption and destruction of persistent contaminants, including PFAS.
She has expertise in materials synthesis, electrochemical reactor design, and advanced characterization techniques. Her work integrates materials science, environmental engineering, and electrochemistry to develop innovative solutions for sustainable energy and pollution remediation.
She has contributed to multiple collaborative projects, producing high-impact publications and fostering interdisciplinary partnerships. Her research vision is to advance low-emission, high-performance carbon technologies that address critical environmental challenges, bridging fundamental science with practical applications.
