Biography

Yogi is currently undertaking doctoral research in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Western Australia. Through narrative inquiry, he explores the exercise of teacher agency among English teachers in Indonesia in the digital teaching and learning context.

In 2015, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in English Education from the Indonesia University of Education. Upon graduation, he qualified and worked as an English teacher at a bilingual primary school in Bandung, Indonesia, before completing his Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) degree at Monash University, Australia, with a scholarship from the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP). After graduation, he received the Faculty of Education Dean’s Awards of Academic Excellence in 2019.

Currently, he received the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) and a travel grant from The University Club of Western Australia to pursue a Ph.D. in Education at GSE UWA supervised by Dr Jennifer Shand and Assoc. Prof. Mark Pegrum.

Since 2020, Yogi has been employed by Primary School Teacher Education (PSTE) Department at President University, Indonesia. He is actively serving as a reviewer for nationally accredited journals such as ELT Review and Voices of English Language Education Society, and an Editor-in-Chief for Indonesia Mengglobal.

Yogi's research interests include teacher professional development, teacher education, teacher identity, teaching methodology, and narrative-based research.
