Biography
Ms Yeok-Fun Mah is currently a Lecturer in the Accounting and Finance discipline of the UWA Business School. She has a long professional career in financial services in Singapore and hence brings a wealth of practical experience and insights to the units she coordinates in the business school.
Ms Mah started her professional career in the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in the Economics Department and subsequently went on to become senior assistant director in the securities industry department which had regulatory oversight of securities firms, futures brokers and fund management companies. Ms Mah left the central bank after ten years of service to join an Anglo-American investment management company INVESCO and was their country head for Singapore. In 2004, Ms Mah was offered a senior role in HSBC Global Asset Management with responsibility for their Singapore operations and regional sales for Southeast Asia. She stayed in this role for six years, growing the Singapore operations to more than US$2bn assets under management and building strong relationships with sovereign wealth funds and central banks in the region.
Ms Mah has been nominated for UWA Business School teaching awards and was awarded by the University Student Guild.
