Xuyen is currently undertaking doctoral research in the Graduate School of Education, the University of Western Australia, on early childhood teachers’ perspectives in Vietnam under the supervision of Dr Gerardine Neylon (coordinating supervisor) and Professor Thomas O’Donoghue (co-supervisor).
From December 2013, Xuyen has been working for Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in Hanoi, Vietnam, as a lecturer title. The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics is the national centre for training mid-level and high-ranking leaders of the political system in Vietnam. Xuyen’s job engages in researching and teaching on making development policies for Vietnam.
From July 2012 to October 2013, Xuyen worked for the Center of Research and Promotion of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Hanoi National University of Education with the project named “Swedish- Vietnamese Corporation Project on Climate Change Education (CCE) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)”. She worked as an assistant of the Director and became presentative for the Center to attend many international workshops on Education for sustainable development held in Vietnam. She was also in charge of co-organising training workshops on ESD and CCE for teachers through Vietnam. She worked directly with Swedish experts on ESD and CCE.
In July 2013, she was the representative for Hanoi National University of Education to join the 13th Asia Pacific Training Workshop in Education for International Understanding with other 29 ministry officials, educators, and teacher trainers from 25 Asia-Pacific countries. The workshop was held from 8-17 July 2013 in Seoul and Korea DMZ Peace-Life Valley, Republic of Korea. The training workshop aimed to enhance the capacity of educators to realise and promote a globally shared vision of peace, sustainable development and equity.
From 2012 to 2013, she also taught the Vietnamese language for foreign students in the Vietnamese Studies Faculty in Hanoi National University of Education.
In 2012, Xuyen had a Master Degree in Culture major (by Chinese) from Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China. In 2009, she had a Chinese language Certificate from Beijing Union University in Beijing, China. In 2008, she had a Bachelor Degree in Pedagogy and Philology major from Hanoi National University of Education in Hanoi, Vietnam.
