Warwick Calkin was appointed Chief Digital and Information Officer for the University of Western Australia on the 14th of August 2017. He is responsible for leading the Information Technology Team in developing and driving digital transformation at the University.
Warwick has over 30 years’ experience in Information Technology. Prior to working in the Higher Education sector, Warwick has worked in Senior IT leadership roles in a number of industry verticals such as Mining, (CIO of South32, CIO of BHP Potash, CIO of BHP Diamonds) Telecommunications (General Manager of Platform Services for Telstra), as well as roles in Utilities, Software Development, and Wagering & Gaming.
In these roles Warwick has lived and worked in New Zealand, Australia, the Netherlands, and Canada and has worked in more than 20 other countries around the world. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Non-Executive Director of a Not-for-Profit organisation, Carers WA.
