Biography

Vu Vuong holds sessional teaching appointments with the Department of Economics at UWA. He is a Senior Research Officer at Telethon Kids Institute and Research Fellow of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course.

Vu Vuong’s research areas include health economics, applied econometrics and their applications in economic impact evaluation. His work particularly focuses on early childhood conditions, disability, and effectiveness of related interventions. Vu has experience evaluating large health and education projects for governments and organisations. His studies on the determinants of intervention success and interdisciplinarity in development have been published in an A-ranked journal (ABDC ranking).

Vu Vuong received his PhD degree from UWA under the prestigious Dean’s Excellence in FABLE PhD Scholarship and the Australian Government Research Training Program.

Teaching overview

Vu Vuong has been a tutor for the Health Economics unit (ECON3205) at UWA since 2019.

He was also a lecturer and unit coordinator for Macroeconomics: Money and Finance (ECON1102) in an overseas articulation program of the UWA Business School in 2022. Other academic units that he has tutored include Introductory Econometrics (ECON2271), Microeconomics: Policy and Applications (ECON2233) and Macroeconomics: Money and Finance (ECON1102).
