Gilly Gent

^{Gilly is a clinical academic who brings a wealth of clinical expertise from critical care nursing and hospital management, to the academic setting.  This clinical expertise has underpinned her capacity to support and drive several hospitals through clinical licensing and standards accreditation processes, including the facility refurbishment leading to relicensing of the University of Western Australia Podiatric Surgery Day Hospital.}

Research publications in health education and critical care nursing.

Gilly is a registered nurse with several post-graduate nursing qualifications, a masters in infection prevention and control, as well as a doctorate in business administration.

She has a wealth of knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety and clinical management, on a background of critical care nursing.  Her past several roles have been in clinical leadership positions, including Director of Nursing in two day hospitals, Health Services Manager in a cross institutional facility, and Manager for Quality and Risk.  In each of these roles, Gilly maintained her clinical credibility by working with the teams providing direct patient care, embedding her professional perspective of leading by example.
