Biography

Valeria Bodishtianu is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Economics at the Business School of the University of Western Australia. She received her PhD in Economics from Cornell University in Ithaca, United States. Prior to that she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and Informatics from Higher School of Economics, and MA in Economics from New Economic School in Moscow, Russia. Her primary research areas span information economics, networks, game theory, and artificial intelligence. Her current work focuses on how beliefs and behavior evolve in digital environments, including the role of AI-driven influence, and the impact on broader societal outcomes such as polarization and spread of misinformation on social networks.
