Thomas Drake-Brockman (they/them) is a clinician-academic and rural generalist registrar in Western Australia, working across paediatrics, rural and Aboriginal health, and digital health. They are a Research Registrar at Perth Children's Hospital and a PhD candidate at UWA Medical School, supervised by Professor Britta Regli-von Ungern-Sternberg. Their research explores how children experience and communicate pain, and how new technologies can improve pain assessment and perioperative care.

Before medicine, Thomas trained in computer science and philosophy (BPhil Hons) and worked as a software engineer, building research data platforms and early clinical applications of wearable technology, including Google Glass for anaesthesia monitoring. That background continues in their work on MERLIN, a secure AI research platform at Perth Children's Hospital that received a Merit at the 2025 INCITE Awards.

Thomas has co-authored more than 25 publications in paediatric anaesthesia, pain and recovery. Their interests also include gender medicine and health equity: they are a member of the Centre for Sex and Gender Equity in Health and Medicine, and received the AMA Diversity in Medicine Award in 2026. They hold honorary appointments at UWA and The Kids Research Institute Australia.
