Biography

Dr Therese Kvist is a senior lecturer in Paediatric Dentistry at the UWA Dental School. She received her PhD from Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden in 2016 where she also completed her specialist training in paediatric dentistry in 2017. 

She recently joined The Oral Health Centre and School of Dentistry at the University of Western Australia in 2023 to join the Paediatric Oral Health Research group as well as undertake teaching to DMD and DCD students. 

Her research interests cover areas within child protection, child health welfare, forensic odontology and paediatric dentistry. Dr Kvist pioneered the dental perspectives of child maltreatment in early years and have a long experience of clinical work in collaboration with child protection and child welfare as well as family domestic violence. 

Current projects

Understanding the Scope of Child Physical Abuse in Sweden.
