Dr Naoum completed his general dental training (BDSc) at The University of Western Australia in 2001. In 2007, Dr Naoum moved from Perth to Sydney to complete a Graduate Diploma in Divinity through the Australian College of Theology. From 2008 to 2014, Dr Naoum held a full-time academic position at The University of Sydney, Faculty of Dentistry within the Department of Restorative Dentistry. At The University of Sydney, Dr Naoum completed his PhD, investigating the benefits and effectiveness of fluoride-releasing resin composites. Additionally, while at The University of Sydney, Dr Naoum held the role of Oral Health Lead within The Poche Centre for Indigenous Health.

In 2014, Dr Naoum returned to Perth to undertake his specialist training in Orthodontics at The University of Western Australia and completed his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics in 2016.  In 2018 Dr Naoum accepted a position at The University of Western Australia Dental School as a Senior Lecturer in Orthodontics. As a  registered Specialist Orthodontist who has received certification with the Australasian Orthodontic Board, Dr Naoum is a clinical Orthodontist within the Oral Health Centre of W.A. and in private practice.

Dr Naoum is an active member within the Australian Society of Orthodontists. Dr Naoum is a current state councillor within the Society as well as being on the National committee for the Society’s Foundation for Research and Education.
