In addition, he serves as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Earth & Ocean Sciences at the University of Victoria where he teaches economic geology and supervises students and post-doctoral scientists. He has over 25 years of experience in mineral exploration and research, and is a registered professional geoscientist with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC). He has received national and international awards for his research and is best known for his basic and applied research on the geological and geochemical factors that control the ultimate grade and tonnage of precious and base-metal ore systems. He has significant leadership and management experience in industry, academia and government, and has taught industrial courses in his field in addition to giving over 100 national and international scientific presentations. He is a current and past member of numerous industry and government advisory boards.
