Biography

Steele is a graduate of Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Business Economics with a published honours thesis on the determinants of African international trade policy and practices.
Steele is presently a doctoral candidate at the School of Agriculture and Environment at the University of Western Australia with a research focus on production economics and capital structure theories. In the
course of his doctoral candidacy, Steele has presented papers at multiple conferences and seminars, completed certification at the University of Stellenbosch Business School in Applied Efficiency and Productivity analysis, as well as served as reviewer for the Journal of Agricultural and Applied Economics, published by Cambridge University Press on behalf of the Southern Agricultural Economics Association of the United States.

In the course of his professional career, Steele has been appointed to various consultancy and project development roles in Australasia, Southern Africa and North America. These have required extensive engagement with private and public stakeholders ranging from small scale farms to multinational financial institutions, government departments and NGOs. 


Away from professional and academic obligations, Steele is a World Rugby accredited coach with association in both a playing and coaching capacity to grade and representative rugby in Asia and Australia, as well as a former member of the Brown University Men's Rowing program.
