Biography

As a scientist within the Marine Science Program, DBCA, I carry out and facilitate research projects that inform management of Western Australia’s marine parks and threatened species. This involves working closely with DBCA regional staff across that state, but also collaborations with scientists from UWA, other universities and research institutes.

My main research interests revolve around ecological studies on marine systems, particularly coral reefs.  A focus is on how environmental disturbances and pressures influence marine systems, associated communities, processes, and ecosystem services. More specifically, much of my work has been on habitat associations, diets, and role of marine fishes.
