Biography
I am an internationally recognised researcher in the fields of high-precision astronomy and space instrumentation. In 2021, my research leadership was recognised Australian Space Awards Academic of the Year, as well as the Excellence Award, which is given to the overall winner across all nine individual award categories. I have contributed to two global science mega-projects, Advanced LIGO and the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), and I am a world leader in the emerging field of coherent free-space laser link research. I lead a four-year, $1.7M SmartSat CRC Research Project (P1-01/18); I am the lead designer of the SKA-Mid Phase Synchronisation System; and I am an Associate Investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS).
