Personal profile

Biography

I am currently studying my PhD in the school of mathematics and statistics at the University of Western Australia (UWA). The aim of my research project is to improve traffic modelling by applying advanced mathematics and statistical techniques. I also work casually as a research assistant for the Planning and Transport Research Centre (PATREC) and a facilitator for undergraduate mathematics units at UWA.

Research interests

My research interest lies in the intersection of my background in civil engineering and mathematics. More specifically, I am interested in applying modern mathematical and statistical modelling techniques in the context of transport engineering. While rigorous framework exists to asses the model predictive power for data-driven or machine learning models, its translation to a complex traffic model with a mixture of principle driven and empricial nature remains challenging. My research aims to address this gap.
