Biography

Ruby is pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in the School of Psychological Science at The University of Western Australia. Her PhD research project investigates readmissions to acute psychiatric inpatient care, and aims to identify distinct patterns of readmissions, and explore how these patterns relate to various stable and dynamic factors. This research is conducted in collaboration with Perth Clinic, and is expected to provide a unique conceptual framework which may allow clinicians to meaningfully understand, predict, and address various readmission trajectories. She is supervised by Professor Andrew Page, Adjunct Associate Professor Geoff Hooke, and Dr Lisa Saulsman. Her PhD research is supported by the Australian Government Research Training Program Domestic Fee Offset (2022-2026) and the Australian Government Research Training Program Stipend (2022-2025). Her broader research interests include mental health and psychological wellbeing, the dynamic monitoring of treatments and patient outcomes, and quality improvement. As an aspiring researcher in psychology, Ruby enjoys the exploration of novel concepts and methodology, and strives to improve psychological outcomes through research advancements.
