Biography
Professor Hart has a respected international profile in the field of infertility, PCOS (International Guideline development), and the early life origins of reproductive disorder (invited plenary speaker) and the influence of endocrine disrupting chemicals on reproduction (EDCs (regular invitations to the International Copenhagen Workshop on EDCs). His research
into the longer term health effects of IVF treatment led to an Endocrine Society Meeting presentation request in Chicago in 2023. He has published over 200 papers in the field of reproductive medicine.
Professor Hart was Convener for PSRM 2023 and for FSANZ 2024, Chair of the Ministerial Expert Panel into ART WA, past Chair of the RANZCOG CREI committee and ethics committee member UWA, Australian representative on FIGO Committee on Menstrual Disorders, the NHMRC Embryo research licensing committee, and is an Australian representive for ASPIRE and is on their fertility preservation working group. He has had research presented at ESHRE annually for the last 15 years, including receiving two prizes and one plenary lecture invitation, and Chair of the Merck Scientific Symposium.
For 15 years Professor Hart was a member of the WA Health Department Reproductive Technology Council, he is the past chair of the WA Minister’s Expert Panel reviewing ART legislation in 2023. He is past Chair of Working Group for Cancer Australia: The Clinical Practice Guidelines for Breast Cancer 2016, co-author of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia’s guideline group for fertility preservation, past Chair of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society Research Committee, International guidelines for the Management of PCOS committee member, medical board member of Endometriosis Australia, board member of the Menopause Alliance Australia and the Healthy Male (previously Andrology Australia), and past committee member of ANZARD (committee responsible for data collected by all IVF units). In addition, Professor Hart is a very frequent media commentator in the field of infertility, including ‘The Project’ May 2023 interview on declining sperm counts.
