Biography
Rean Gilbert (nee Monfils) is an executive leader with over 20 years experiece at the intersection of government and industry, specialising in regulatory approvals, marine science and environmental management. Her career includes pivotal leadership roles in Commonwealth and State regulatory agencies, where she has led major initiatives in oil and gas, marien park management and airspace regulation.
Rean has a Masters in Marine Science from James Cook University and advanced certifications in maritime environmental management and government investigations. She successfully oversaw critical decisions affecting the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, oil and gas regulation including decommissioning and other significant projects.
Rean is recognised for her strategic vision and ability to drive innovative solutins that balance environmental sustainability with industry needs. Her experience as both a regulator and consultant allows her to provide pragmatic, multifaceted insights to decision-makers. Rean is passionate about fostering collaboration and leading cross-functional teams to navigate complex challenges in marine pollution and environmental impact management.
