Roles and responsibilities

Peter Franklin is a teaching and research academic in the School of Population and Global Health. His research interests are in environmental and occupational epidemiology, with a focus on the health effects of mining exposures, asbestos (occupational and non-occupational exposures), air pollution, plastics and household chemicals. He is Director of the Occupational Respiratory Epidemiology Research group and a member of both the Global Health research group at the School of Population and Global Health, and the Children's Environmental Health research group at the Telethon Kids Institute..

A/Prof Franklin co-ordinates a unit on Environmental and Occupational Health within the postgraduate public health program in the School of Population and Global Health, as well as teaching Epidemiology in both postgraduate and undergraduate courses.
