Biography

Dr Peter Falloon is a Research Fellow in the Fluid Science and Resource (FSR) Group at the University of Western Australia, where he manages the UWA Energy and Resources Digital Interoperability (ERDi) Industry 4.0 Testlab and carries out thermodynamic modelling research. He is currently the primary developer of the ThermoFAST desktop and web application, a thermodynamic property calculator for natural gas, LNG, ammonia and hydrogen.

Prior to joining the FSR group he worked as a software consultant for the software company Wolfram Research, makers of the popular Mathematica and Wolfram|Alpha software widely used in academia. He previously spent ten years as a quantitative analyst in the finance industry, with employers including Goldman Sachs and Susquehanna International Group (SIG). His academic background is in mathematics and theoretical physics, with BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees from UWA and a joint-badged PhD in theoretical physics from UWA and Université Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg, France).
