Biography

A/Prof. Paul Stanwix is an academic in the Departments of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering. He is interested in developing novel sensing technology to improve our ability to measure and predict the behaviour of fluid mixtures, in particular those related to energy. His research has led to a number of patents and he is co-founder of Jovian Tech, a startup commercialising sensors for the hydrogen industry.

Paul has previously held positions as an ARC DECRA Fellow, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, and Scientist at the Defence Science and Technology Origanisation (now DST Group). He was awarded the inaugural National Measurement Institute Prize in 2008 for contributions to measurement science, has recieved a number of awards for his teaching, and was a finalist in the 2019 WA Innovator of the Year award.
