Research

My research expertise is in digital marketing, specifically harnessing big data to understand how people engage with, and are impacted by, social media. This research spans a range of issues and sectors; e.g. branding, misinformation, polarisation, influencers. I have published my research in over 60 international journal articles and books, and presented it at over 50 international conferences.

Teaching

My teaching focus is on digital marketing, where I have developed, delivered and coordinated a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive courses internationally.

Service

At UWA, I am Deputy Dean of the Business School. Previously, I was Head of the Marketing department 2019-20, and Deputy Head 2023-25.

More broadly, I am incoming Editor in Chief of the Australasian Marketing Journal, along with A/Prof Lara Stocchi (2026-). Previously I served as Vice President of the Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy (ANZMAC) from 2019-24. In 2022, I chaired the ANZMAC conference in Perth, with 608 international attendees.
