Research

My research expertise is in digital marketing, specifically social media marketing. I have published my research in over 50 international journal articles and books, and presented it at over 40 international conferences.

I have secured over $200,000 in research funding.

I supervise 3 doctoral students, and have had 7 completions. I currently have openings for 2 more quality doctoral students.

Teaching

My teaching focus is on digital marketing, where I have delivered and coordinated undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive courses.

At UWA, I teach Digital Marketing (PG 120), Big Data in Marketing (PG 50), Marketing Principles (MBA), and Strategic Social Media (MBA 15). I previously taught Introduction to Marketing (UG 1600 students) from 2013-2020. At IESEG, I teach five Masters courses in Digital Marketing and CRM.

Service

At UWA, I am a member of the Academic Board, and was Acting Head of the Marketing Department from 2019-2020.

More broadly, I am a member of the ANZMAC executive committee, serving as Vice President and responsible for their digital marketing from 2019. I am an Associate Editor at the Journal of Marketing Management, and on the editorial board of the Journal of Interactive Advertising. I have also been a PhD examiner for a range of Australian, New Zealand, and European universities.

I consult with industry on social media marketing, and engage regularly with the ABC on issues around digital marketing.
